ARTICLE TITLE: The impact of Value Similarity with Parents and Peers on Well-Being of Children in Russian Families in Latvia

ABSTRACT: The article explores the impact of the factors influencing the psychological comfort of children in Russian families of Latvia. It is shown that their life satisfaction and self-esteem provides both psychological closeness with the parent, and the similarity of values that reflect the individual development and formation needs (“openness to change”, “assertion”) with their peers. In contrast, overall similarity values with parents is negatively correlated with indicators of psychological well-being of children, while the total similarity values of the past with peers is related to the parameters of psychological comfort positively.
